    How do you qualify?

    • Meet the qualifications for teaching at the primary or secondary levels in schools in their country of nationality.
    • Have a degree equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s Degree in Education or the academic subject field in which they intend to teach.
    • Have a minimum of two (2) years of teaching or related professional experience.
    • Satisfy the teaching eligibility standards of the U.S. state in which he or she will teach, including any required criminal background checks.
    • Be of good reputation and character.
    • Agree to come to the U.S. as a full-time teacher of record in an accredited primary (including pre-kindergarten) or secondary school.
    • Be proficient in English. Teachers will be interviewed in English to assess verbal ability and comprehension.
    • Be working as a teacher at the time of application.

    Step 1: Registration

    • Submit 1 passport size picture.
    • Submit a colour copy of your passport information page.
    • Submit a copy of your resume/cv with a smiling photo (see resume template below) for review of eligibility.
    • Submit a completed J-1 Teach USA Application Form for review of eligibility.
    • Once reviewed applicant will be notified via e-mail if they qualify.
    • Once the applicant meets all the necessary requirements a confirmation e-mail will be sent along with additional registration documents to be completed.
    • Payment of Registration Fee of $2,500 JMD (non-refundable).
    • Payment of first deposit, due 1 week after payment of Registration fee (non-refundable)*.
    • Register for pre-screening interview with Sponsor. Instructions will be sent via e-mail.

    Step 2: Job Selection

    • Create a Zoom account.
    • Complete interview with the respective School District.
    • Once successful, a Letter of Intent will be e-mailed to the applicant.
    • Payment of second deposit is due.
    • Complete interview with Campus Principal Panel for placement.
    • Once successful, an Offer Letter will be e-mailed to the applicant.
    • Payment of third and final deposit is due.

    All outstanding documents must be submitted in order to complete the application process.

    Step 3: Visa Application

    • Completion of US Visa Application form.
    • Pay for your US Visa.
    • Collect Visa appointment package.
    • Attend US Visa interview.

    Step 4: Bon Voyage!

    • Make flight arrangements through Jobseekers International Placement Agency.
    • Start your program!!!!!!
